Just over a week ago I met the co-editor of Oscar & BAFTA winning film GRAVITY, Mark Sanger. I watched an interview with him recently on the Kevin Pollack chat show and still didn't know at that point what editing such a cinematic achievement took.
So I found out via twitter that he was in Manchester's corner-house cinema doing a talk on editing and more specifically GRAVITY. It was one of the most astounding experiences I've had at the cinema. Watching in in IMAX was a privilege and probably won't be on again in that format for some time.
The talk was informative and it detailed Mark's entry into filmmaking as a youngster up until this point.
He was a humble and lovely guy to speak to.
If you haven't seen GRAVITY, it really should be experienced at least once. Amazing achievement.
